Praise is a key way for believers to express their love, gratitude, and reverence to God. When you praise God, you thank him and extol his majesty, in worship, much more than extolling him, there’s a communion and relationship.
Praise recognizes God as Creator and King. In Psalm 100:3, the psalmist declares, Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are his. Giving praise acknowledges God's authority over all creation and his sovereignty over our lives..
God's goodness deserves continual praise. Psalm 107:8 says, Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Throughout Scripture, praise is tied to thanksgiving for God's provision, protection, and faithfulness. 1 Chronicles 16:34, David says, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; his love endures forever. Praise is a response to God's unwavering love and mercy.
Praise often follows deliverance. The Bible records many instances where people praise God after experiencing his salvation or rescue. In Exodus 15, after God delivered the Israelites from Egypt by parting the Red Sea, Moses and the Israelites sang a song of praise, I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted (Exodus 15:1).
Touching lives, changing hopeless situations for our God is good, our praise strengthens faith and its a witness to others.
